The Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) credential shows the knowledge to build one’s organisation’s privacy structures from the ground up. The risk for organizations that do not comply with data privacy regulations is costly, as is the loss of customer trust. Companies that employ professionals with CIPT certifications are better able to apply strategies, policies, processes and techniques to manage cybersecurity risks while enabling prudent data use for business purposes.
This certification applies to anyone in IT, security, or engineering. Privacy in Technology training teaches technology and data professionals how to understand and integrate strategies and techniques to minimize privacy threats. The curriculum includes privacy-by-design principles; implementing data and process-oriented strategies to support privacy policies; and managing threats from AI, location tracking etc.

 | Kevin Shepherdson He is the author of “99 Privacy Breaches to Beware of” and a well-qualified consultant and trainer, achieving the Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), awarded by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). In addition, he is a governance, risk management and compliance professional (GRCP) under the Open Compliance Ethics Group (OCEG) and an official OCEG trainer. With his background in privacy and GRC, Kevin is a leading speaker in this field and consults regularly with and for government regulators and policymakers. |
 | Celine Chew As a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Head of Learning and Development, Celine provides insights into the behavioural change and learning required for teams to embrace change initiatives.  | Nicholas Cheong Nick is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) for Europe and Asia, certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He has also been certified by the Open Compliance and Ethics Group (“OCEG”) as a Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional (GRCP) and GRC Auditor (GRCA). Nick has benefited from 25 years of legal practice, managing risks as a diving instructor and as a drug supervision officer. He is from the first batch of PDPC approved trainers when PDPC first launched its data protection course. He has provided data protection training and consultancy since 2014. |
PREREQUISITE
This is not a foundation course, participants are expected to have the following pre-requisites:
• Good knowledge of IT and data protection; and
• Tertiary level qualifications; and/or
• At least 2 years of working experience

- Recognize foundational elements for embedding privacy in technology
- Describe the fundamentals of privacy as they relate to the privacy technologist
- Identify the risks to privacy that are inherent throughout the data life cycle and explain how software security helps to mitigate privacy threats
- Outline how technical measures and privacy-enhancing technologies may be used to enhance privacy throughout all steps of the data life-cycle
- Explain the role of privacy engineering within an organisation
- Describe the process and methodology of the privacy-by-design model
- Examine the unique challenges that come from online privacy issues

If no seats are available for the applied date, you will be notified immediately and given an alternative date. Straits Interactive reserves the right to change the course schedules, programmes and content without prior notice. We also reserve the right to cancel course due to unforeseen circumstances.
CANCELLATION
Request for withdrawal or postponement must be made in writing to Straits Interactive. Refunds arising from course withdrawal/deferment will be subjected to the following terms:
More than 2 weeks before course commencement: Full refund.
Less than 2 weeks before course commencement: 50% refund.
On or after course commencement: No refund.
