Effective data governance ensures that data is consistent and trustworthy and doesn't get misused. It's increasingly critical as organisations face new data privacy regulations and rely more and more on data analytics to help optimise operations and drive business decision-making.
This module, Digital Data Governance Frameworks and Standards, provides participants an understanding of data governance in today's digital and regulatory environment using the ISO/IEC 38505 standard. In the post Covid-19 world, digitalisation and data will play a key bigger role in accelerating business recovery and driving decisions. Therefore Data Management will be key. The ASEAN Data Management Framework provides businesses with guidelines for their data governance structures and management of data. Participants will learn to apply data governance principles and set up their data governance framework aligned to their business strategy.

PRE-REQUISITE
Participants should preferably have tertiary qualifications and/ or at least 3 years of working experience.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

- Learn and apply data governance principles and governance data model
- Understand the ASEAN Data Management Framework
- Set up a data governance framework and create policies aligned to business strategy
ASSESSMENTS
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

CERTIFICATION
Advanced Certificate in Data Governance Systems
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 6 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Advanced Certificate in Data Governance Systems issued by Singapore Management University.

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

# Enhanced Training Support Scheme
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than SGD100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainers must not be a full-time national serviceman
